Appliance Repair and Used Appliances in Washington, Iowa

Washington is home for us. Our shop is here, our family is here, and most days you will find our truck somewhere between the square and the edge of the county. When your washer quits on a Monday morning, you are not calling a dispatch center in another state - you are calling a neighbor who can usually tell you over the phone whether it is worth fixing.
We repair, sell, buy, deliver and install appliances for homes and businesses all over Washington, from the older houses ringing Central Park and the downtown historic district to the newer builds out toward Sunset Park and the acreages north and west of town along Highway 1 and Highway 92.
Because the shop is right here in town, every address inside Washington falls inside our closest service tier - $110 for a service call including the diagnostic, with $50 of that credited back toward the repair if you decide to move forward. Parts are sold at our cost with no markup.

What We Do for Washington, Iowa Homes and Businesses

Everything below is available in Washington, whether you want us at your door or you would rather drop the appliance at the shop.

Appliance Repairs

Washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, ranges and ovens repaired in your home or in our shop. Sealed system work handled in house by an EPA-certified technician.

Used Appliance Sales

Pre-owned refrigerators, ranges, washers and dryers, every one of them inspected, serviced and run through a full cycle before it sells. We buy used appliances too.

Delivery and Installation

We bring it in, level it, hook it up and make sure it runs before we leave - including basement laundry rooms and the tight stairwells common in older Washington homes.

Dryer Cavity and Vent Cleaning

We open the machine and clear the cavity, then clear the full duct run to the outside wall. Long basement vent runs in older houses are the worst offenders.

Appliance Parts at Cost

Our cost is your cost - we do not mark up parts. Bring us the model number and we will source the right component whether you install it yourself or hand it back to us.

Washer and Dryer Rentals

Simple monthly payments on a 12-month contract with no large upfront cost. Serviced before delivery and maintained by us for as long as you have it.
We also handle Whirlpool control board pressure switch replacement at $75 each and haul off old appliances. Call (319) 800-8495 - texting works well too if we are under a machine when you reach out.

Where We Work in and around Washington

Washington is a small enough town that we do not bother with neighborhood boundaries - we go everywhere in it. That means the century-old homes on the streets around Central Park and the downtown historic district, the blocks near Washington County Hospital and Clinics, the housing out by Sunset Park and the Kewash Nature Trail, the apartments and duplexes along the south side, and the farmhouses and acreages scattered up and down Highway 1 and Highway 92.
From the shop we run out to the rest of Washington County and into the surrounding counties most weeks. Anything within 35 miles of Washington falls in our $110 service call tier, which covers most of the closer towns below. Farther out - Burlington, West Burlington, Mount Pleasant and Fairfield among them - a service call runs $125, and we will tell you which tier you are in on the phone before we ever get in the truck.

Older Houses, Older Appliances, Bigger Kitchens Than You Think

A good share of Washington's housing was built long before anyone standardized appliance openings. We spend a lot of time measuring cutouts that do not match anything on a big-box showroom floor, running new vent duct through finished basement ceilings, and finding a replacement that will actually fit the space you already have.
Out on the acreages the problem is different: chest freezers in unheated garages, second refrigerators running in the shop, and laundry that has to keep up with real work clothes. We service all of it.
