Our Services

A summary of services provided by Underwoods Appliance

Choose a Service

Pick the one you need and we will tell you exactly what it involves, what it costs and what happens next. Everything here is available whether you want us at your door or you would rather drop the appliance at the shop.

Appliance Repairs

Washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, ranges and ovens repaired in your home, your business or our shop. Sealed system work handled in house by an EPA-certified technician.

Used Appliance Sales

Pre-owned refrigerators, ranges, washers and dryers, every one of them inspected, serviced and run through a full cycle before it sells. We buy used appliances too.

Delivery and Installation

We bring it in, level it, hook it up and make sure it runs before we leave - including basement laundry rooms and the tight stairwells common in older southeast Iowa homes.

Dryer Cavity and Vent Cleaning

We open the machine and clear the cavity, then clear the full duct run to the outside wall. Long basement vent runs in older houses are the worst offenders.

Appliance Parts at Cost

Our cost is your cost - we do not mark up parts. Bring us the model number and we will source the right component whether you install it yourself or hand it back to us.

Washer and Dryer Rentals

Simple monthly payments on a 12-month contract with no large upfront cost. Serviced before delivery and maintained by us for as long as you have it.

Whirlpool Control Panel

Pressure switch replacement on Whirlpool washer control boards at $75 each, done by a former Whirlpool technician. Far cheaper than scrapping a washer that is otherwise fine.

Appliance Service Calls

A service call with the diagnostic runs $110 within 35 miles of the shop and $125 farther out, and $50 of it comes back off the repair. All the pricing is laid out here.
We also haul off old appliances, and we will buy a gently used one off you rather than see it go to scrap. Call (319) 800-8495 - texting works well too if we are under a machine when you reach out.
Why spend thousands replacing your broken appliances when you can repair them for a fraction of the cost?
